About Detour FW

Detour FW pulls Fort Wayne and Allen County road closures, construction, crashes, event traffic and weather alerts into one simple map and a free weekly email, so you can plan around them before you're stuck in them.

Where the info comes from

• City of Fort Wayne TREC (Traffic Related Events & Closures): closures, detours and emergency road blocks
• INDOT work zones on I-69, I-469, US 24/27/30, SR 1/3/14/37/930 and more, from INDOT's public 511IN work-zone data feed (public domain)
• Allen County Sheriff's Department activity log: crashes, hazards and disabled vehicles (traffic calls only, posted about a day later, block-level addresses as published)
• Fort Wayne / Allen County Combined Communications police activity log (traffic calls only, when available)
• Traffic posts on X from @FortWaynePolice (morning crash reports), @INDOTNortheast (Allen County state-road work) and @JGfortwayne (The Journal Gazette, traffic stories only), always linked to the original post
• Citilink rider alerts (bus detours, often the first sign of a surprise closure like a water main break)
• City of New Haven alert center and news
• Event calendars: Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, Purdue Fort Wayne athletics (home games) and Visit Fort Wayne
• National Weather Service alerts for Allen County
• Traffic headlines from WANE 15 and 21Alive News, always linked back to the original story
• Reports from people like you

The fine print
